August Kids Fest

We had a wonderful outreach to the surrounding community at IDADEE, in August.  It was a "Kids Fest".  Orchard Hills Church from the Pittsburgh, PA. area sponsored it.  Shannon Miller lead it, and was responsible for getting it organized and set up.  It was a fantastic week, with 435 children from the area attending for the 5 days.

First thing in the morning there was a general assembly where they sang, prayed and were given their assignments for the day.  There were 40 groups of kids and there were three areas which the kids attended.  One was Bible study.  Another arts and crafts and then games.  While some headed to Bible Study after the assembly, others went to arts and crafts and the third group went to games.  At the whistle, they changed to the next area.

The photos below show some of what went on.  The Bible study group sat under the shade of trees, on tarps.
The arts and crafts groups were under smaller tents.  Each day was a different Bible craft for them to do.
There were games...everything from tug of war to potato sack races to soccer games...the kids had a ball with that.

In the middle of the day, they paused for a meal.  Can you imagine feeding over 500 people (children, leaders, staff and cooks) in under half an hour?  They did it, and did a great job.
Sunday they had church service and invited parents and family.  Over 1,000 people showed up and heard the gospel.  And in the service the 60 children who had accepted the Lord that week were honored.  What a resounding success Kids Fest was.

And now, plans are already in the works for Kids Fest 2011...next August.

OUR VISION

Since 1995, Mr. Remy Fils-Aime has had a passion for the needy children, and IDADEE is the result. With many other young people who, as well, have lived in the shelter of EBAC (Eglise Baptiste Armée du Christ) Army of Christ Baptist Church, located in Cap-Haitian, Haiti. From the experiences and fellowships those people have shared, they have decided to put together an organization that can provide a better shelter to host and provide for children of the country. These young men and women who were hosted by the ministry of EBAC, have been driven to help the needy children of the country with what God has invested in them.

Our First Post

Greetings to all of our friends!!

We have started a blog to keep everyone up to date on what is happening at IDADEE.  We are thrilled that you want to be a part of what we are doing and how things are progressing.
We hope you will follow us and pray for us.  We need your prayers to finish the building, but also to keep us on the right track with the Lord.  God is our director and guide.

"Whosoever receives one child like this, receives me."  Matthew 18:5.  This is the verse IDADEE is founded on.

Our desire is to help the orphans of Haiti in any way the Lord directs.  We will take up to 32 children into our orphanage once it is completed.  We are praying this will be accomplished by the first of the new year, 2011.  Pray with us on this.
Here is our building in February 2009.....
And where we are now...in August of 2010...and since these photos, preparations for the roof have begun.

What a difference and what a blessing to have come so far.  And it's all praise to God and thanks to those who followed His leading in helping us.
